Over the past 8 months, I have been fortunate to work with Jonathan Hornsby as my personal trainer. When we started together in April 2023, my weight was 203lbs, having peaked at 206lbs just the month prior. Aware of the unhealthy nature of this weight for my 5”2 frame, I recognized I needed to change; however, despite numerous attempts in the past, the demands of life consistently impeded my progress. Initially, my fitness goal was solely weight loss. Under Jonathan’s guidance, I realized the importance of simultaneously losing fat and gaining muscle to achieve my desire physique.
Jonathan has a rare dedication to his clients’ individual needs. For example, I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal condition that complicates weight loss and is common among many young women. His commitment to researching this condition and tailoring my training accordingly is incredibly commendable. In fact, through our training, I have been able to see a significant change in my hormone levels for the better that even my doctor was impressed. When I had a period of time that I developed elevated heart rate during our workouts, Jonathan took the time stop frequently to ensure my well-being during our sessions. His ability to intuitively gauge my emotional state for our workouts and tailor them based off of that greatly enhanced the efficacy of my resultant achievements.
Jonathan takes the time to explain the scientific basis behind every exercise we do, which deepens my understanding of my body’s transformation. I can confidently attribute my current weight of 125lbs to Jonathan’s support; he goes beyond the role of a trainer, having evolved to personal friend. While consistency and discipline come from within the client, Jonathan’s motivating demeanor has significantly impacted my ability to stay on course. He has been kind, very patient, and prompt with his responses to my questions or concerns.
My journey with Jonathan has enhanced my endurance, strength, and outlook. I look forward to further accomplishments while training with him, and appreciate his focus on helping me become equipped for independent success. I am incredibly grateful for the impact he has had on my fitness journey, and I can’t imagine navigating this 80+ pound weight-loss transformation with anyone else!
